The Bett Show is the world's largest education technology event - 37,000 teachers, exhibitors, sponsors and EdTech leaders descending on the Excel in London every January. It's loud, it's busy, it's brilliant. And for three years running, Podcast Labs have been right in the middle of it.
But the Bett relationship didn't start on an exhibition stand. It started with a question: what do you do with your audience for the other 364 days of the year?

The answer was EdTech Unwrapped - a podcast built to keep Bett's community engaged, informed and connected long after the event doors close. From a focused pilot season to a sponsored run of 40 episodes, a live studio at the show itself and three action-packed events spent sprinting around the Excel with cameras in hand, this is one of our most varied, fast-paced and genuinely fun client relationships we have.
Bett came to Podcast Labs with a clear gap to fill. An annual event is powerful - but it's also just a few days on the calendar. Their audience of educators and EdTech professionals needed a reason to stay connected to the brand all year round, and a podcast was the obvious vehicle to do it.
We started with a full Strategy & Launch programme: defining the format, planning the content, sourcing guests and mapping out the first season of EdTech Unwrapped. That pilot season was intentionally lean - audio-only, focused on finding the show's voice and proving the concept worked.
It worked. Season two arrived with a major sponsor attached and 40 commissioned episodes focused on "Lessons from Leaders" in EdTech. We levelled the production up, recording remotely with guests across the globe including the US, and introduced short-form video clips cut from webcam footage. Those clips found an immediate audience on Bett's social channels - and set the template for everything that followed.
If you want to understand what Podcast Labs can do under pressure, the Bett Show is your answer.
We've attended three consecutive Bett events - 2024, 2025 and 2026 - and each time we arrive with a team of three: two videographers and a producer/interviewer, ready to spend three days in full sprint mode across the Excel. The brief is simple and completely chaotic: find the best people at the show, persuade them to stop walking, position them somewhere workable, film them on two cameras and capture something genuinely worth watching.
In practice that means building human barriers in busy walkways to stop attendees wandering into shot, grabbing exhibitors mid-conversation, reassuring nervous interviewees and doing around 50 recordings over three days to produce 20 to 30 polished final videos. Each one lands on Bett's social channels post-event with subtitles, brand framing and full colour grading.
The thing we're probably most proud of? The sound. Getting broadcast-quality audio in a venue with 37,000 people in it is not straightforward. Our sound treatment is good enough to make it happen - and the results genuinely surprise people who know how noisy that building gets.
In 2026 we added something new. Alongside the roaming interviews, we took an exhibition stand, built a full studio - furniture, microphones, cameras, lighting - and recorded six LIVE mini-series episodes of EdTech Unwrapped with teachers at the show. Those six episodes rolled out weekly in the weeks following Bett, running alongside the regular fortnightly schedule and bringing the show's online audience straight into the event world - and the event audience back to the podcast. We also produced short-form social clips from the studio sessions and stills for carousels. It went so well we're bringing the studio back again for Bett 2027.

Bett is one of those clients that keeps growing - in ambition, in scope and in the sheer variety of what they ask us to do. From a quiet strategy session to a live studio in the middle of the Excel, no two years have looked the same. That's exactly the kind of briefs we love.
Season three is already in production, with 10 new episodes focused on teachers in the pipeline and 2027's event is firmly in the diary.
